We have collated your responses from another questionnaire circulated earlier in the year regarding the option of inclusion in a local phone book, civil defence information and preferred methods of communicating with all of you. We have updated our database accordingly but have decided against publication of a phone book due to the low number of respondents.
Last Monday we once again we held our monthly committee meeting. For a change the meeting was quite short with all business completed within 90 minutes. We agreed to organise the purchase of an AED and first Aid kit for the hall, the majority of the funds for this will come from Mighty River Power with the balance topped up from LOCA.
We discussed the jetty and boat ramp upgrade and agreed we need to continue to talk to the Council about rectifying the depth of the new boat ramp which puts boats with inboard motors at risk of damage during low lake levels, and the gap between the edge of the ramp and the jetties.
We will continue to monitor the lake level as it had started to rise above its maximum level. The Regional Council had been having problems with an air lock in the discharge pipe which had reduced flows.
We agreed to provide to grant S2,450 to Landcare Okareka to purchase traps and accessories for the their traps lines on the lake foreshore and in the Tikitapu Reserve.
