Welcome to our new children and their families who have joined us this term.
Farewell to Lauren Carter with Mum Natalie and Dad David. Farewell also to those children who have graduated to Lymore school—Theo Bennett, Liddy Zuidmeer, Danny Wilson and Nirai Raureti–Mikaere. Special thanks to Aly Bennett, Harm Zuidmeer, Mark and Lisa Wilson for their contributions to Preschool. Happy school days.
Preschool AGM Thursday 20th June at Preschool
Have you considered being part of the Preschool Board? As a Board Member you have the support of the members and teachers in governing Preschool. The roles are varied pending on the role type and experiences. There is a monthly meeting of usually two hours and opportunities to work together to govern Preschool. Nominations are now open for Board positions such as Chairperson and Secretary. If you think you may have the skills to share with the Board whilst being involved in your
Preschool please speak with one of our Board members.
The teaching team attended the Early Childhood Council Conference at the Events Centre on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May. This weekend was packed with exciting workshops about partnerships with parents, ERO reviews, ideas using IPads and Tablets in ECE and much more. Preschool parents and teachers completed the satchel packing for the Conference and raised $300 for resources for the children. The teachers purchased some new dinosaurs and puzzles.
On Thursday 23rd May we had a bus load of Early Childhood teachers from all over New Zealand, China and Australia come to Preschool for a short visit as part of the Conference Centre Tours. We are pleased to be included in this tour promoting our rural Preschool as part of the Rotorua Centres Tour. This visit gave us a great opportunity to welcome our visitors with a song and some fresh baking.
