First of all a huge thank you to everyone who came to help with the last Working Bee on the Lake Okareka Walking Track. Much track laying work was accomplished, along with more weed removal.
Brian Law (Project Supervisor) and Mike Goodwin have asked me to email everyone to say that they think the time is about right to begin evening working bees - and this week there will be an after work working bee on the track this coming Tuesday 18th October 2016 from 4.30 - 5.00 pm until usually about 6.00 pm. (They picked Tuesday because Wednesday looks likely to be wet!)
Please park in the Boyes beach car park and walk across the reserve to the paddle shed. You will have to walk on further if no one is there - although someone will probably be at the gravel pile.
Please bring a shovel and a rake - it will be laying textiles and then spreading gravel over the top - using the tractor and trailer to cart the gravel. Please wear suitable clothing and strong covered footwear. Please bring a drink of water and a snack. You will be expected to sign the H&S register.
Hoping to see some of you on Tuesday afternoon.
Kind regards
Sandra Goodwin
