Hi everyone

Thank you to those volunteers who came and helped with the Lake Okareka Community Walking Track on the last Landcare Okareka Working Bee. Since then there has been so much rain and the lake level has really gone up. We have had a slip which is now cleared away. However the high lake level has washed a lot of gravel out of the track along the beach on beyond Boyes beach. Hopefully lake levels will recede soon so that work can be done reinstating the beach part of the track.

In the meantime we are planning a Landcare Okareka Working Bee on the Lake Okareka Walkway (the older track).

WHEN: Saturday 22nd April 2017 meeting at the Lake Okareka Walkway entrance Acacia Road at 9 am for a Health & Safety briefing and signing in. This is for a tidy up for the walkway track on past all of the flaxes. We are not doing flax trimming!

WHAT TO BRING: Wear suitable clothing and footwear. Gardening gloves, cutting tools (secateurs, loppers, pruning saw - if you have any of these), rake, spade. Water bottle.

We will provide morning tea and drinking water.
Hoping to see many of you on Saturday. Send me an email or give me a call if you require more information.

Kind regards
