First of all thank you to everyone who came to help at last month's Working Bee tidying up the gardens at Steep Street and Boyes beach and also along the walking track between both of those places.
This work was much appreciated by the organisers of and participants in the "Spirited Women's Adventure Race" that happened around Lake Okareka and in the Rotorua area, a few days after the working bee - and the work is also appreciated by locals who regularly walk through this track.
This Month's Working Bee:
When: Saturday 23rd April from 9 am until 12 noon
Where: Lake Okareka Walkway, from the car park on Acacia Road
What: A good tidy up of vegetation along the Lake Okareka Walkway - weed control, trimming and pruning plants - including flaxes,(sorry Team, I know how much everyone enjoys that particular job!), leaf raking, etc.
What To Bring: Please wear suitable clothing and strong footwear; gardening gloves, rake, secateurs or loppers (something that can cut flax leaves).
We will provide morning tea and drinking water for everyone that comes to help.
Any questions or for more information please contact me 362 8865 or email [email protected]
Looking forward to seeing many of you on Saturday morning.
Kind regards
Sandra Goodwin
