We are inviting you to a joint Rotorua branch of Forest & Bird, Rotorua Botanical Society and Landcare Okareka, Planting Day at Lake Okareka in the Tikitapu Scenic Reserve. This planting supports the work that Forest & Bird volunteers and supporters are doing with animal pest control in the Tikitapu Scenic Reserve.
It also supports weed control work being carried out by Rotorua Botanical Society and Landcare Okareka volunteers in the Scenic Reserve.
The ground is fairly level and would be a good place for children as well as adults to come to help.
Plants have been provided by Bay of Plenty Regional Council and Dept of Conservation.
Everyone is welcome.
WHEN: Saturday 22nd August 2015 from 9 am to 12 noon
WHERE: at Lake Okareka, Tikitapu Scenic Reserve, Okareka Loop Road, opposite Benn Road (Tikitapu side) - plenty of parking on both sides of the road
WHAT TO BRING: suitable clothing, strong footwear, wet weather clothing (if it looks like rain), gardening gloves.
Please bring a spade for planting, if you have one.
Morning tea will be provided - some of it thanks to Dept of Conservation who gave baskets of goodies to volunteer groups in their area!
