Working Bee 22nd March

20/3/2014

Dear Landcare Okareka volunteers

Thank you to everyone who came to help at last month's Working Bee at the end of Acacia Road.
We are going back to the same area this month to continue with the weed cleaning up in the reserve.

WHEN: Saturday 22nd March 2014 from 9 am to 12 noon
WHERE: at the end of Acacia Road, Taumaihi Reserve.

WHAT: Pruning and tidying up in the Taumaihi Reserve. There are one or two quite large dead trees to be removed, so there will a chance of some firewood for some of the volunteers. We do have permission to go through the Lebua Lake House gates for just a few vehicles.
Mon the Lebua Lake House Manager will be there to give some of us access via the gates.

WHAT TO BRING: Wear comfortable gardening clothes, gardening gloves and sturdy shoes. Please apply sun screen and have a sunhat if it looks like it will be fine and sunny. Pruning gear such as secateurs, loppers and hedge clippers could be useful. Also a wheel barrow - or two - could be handy. Some people will be bringing car trailers.

We will provide the makings for morning tea and cold drinking water (for refilling drink bottles - or cups).

If you have any questions please either send me an email [email protected] or give me a call 362 8865

Please be mindful if you bring a vehicle to park carefully at the road end where the large gingko tree is - and not across local residents' entrance ways. Hoping to see many of you on Saturday 22nd March 2014.

Kind regards
Sandra Goodwin
