First many thanks to everyone who came to help with last month's Working Bee planting about 500 pants into Tikitapu Scenic Reserve more or less opposite the Benn Road turn off.
It was a great effort with plants all in the ground within about 2 hours - and we had morning tea in that time as well!
THIS MONTH'S WORKING BEE:
WHEN: SATURDAY 26th SEPTEMBER 2015 from 9.00 am to 12 noon
WHERE: Meet at Acacia Road jetty and boat ramp (we hope to use Dennis Falconer's barge to travel to planting area on walkway. However please be prepared to walk down as barge may not be back on Lake Okareka by then.)
WHAT: Planting more pohutukawa in area near shade shelter and at Silver beach; trimming vegetation along track and at toilets; hopefully some repairs to toilet roof (which has long had a slow leak which we have tried to repair before!)
WHAT TO BRING: Suitable clothing and foot wear,(rain wear if it looks like rain) gardening gloves, spade for planting, secateurs or loppers.
We will provide morning tea and drinking water.
Hope to see many of you on Saturday morning.
Kind regards
