The Working bee this month is at the Tarawera Road refuse transfer station. This is a joint working bee for both Lake Okareka and Lake Tarawera communities. Other volunteers are also invited to come along and help. The perimeter of the Tarawera Road transfer station was filed with all kinds of invasive weeds. Over the past 18 months a lot of weed control work has been carried out by a crew from Rotorua Contracting (Rotorua Lakes Council) and other private contractors. This has partially been paid for by Lake Okareka Community Assn with funding coming from overnight campers at Boyes beach, Lake Okareka.
Plants for this Working Bee are being funded by Bay of Plenty Regional Council.
